About the artist Laura Cooney

Hi, I’m Laura!

I’m a botanical watercolour artist who loves nature, fairy-tale details, and all things sweet and whimsical. My work is inspired by the flowing lines of Art Nouveau and the ornate beauty of Baroque design, which I mix with my own love for delicate knots, flowers, and little magical details. Each piece is made to feel like a tiny pocket of calm, a garden you can carry with you.

I actually started out just painting little doodles and miniature pieces to decorate my own diary, making it feel softer and cuter. Over time, those small joys grew into full collections of prints, some tiny enough to tuck into journals, and others big enough to hang proudly on your walls. My hope is that these pieces bring you a spark of wonder and make your everyday spaces feel a little more dreamy, natural, and full of colour.

  • Bellis Art Studios is based in rural Lincolnshire, England. I work from my countryside studio where I paint and print my botanical watercolour art, inspired by local gardens, thrifted gardening books, and British folklore.

  • I specialise in botanical watercolour illustration with a focus on symbolic florals, Celtic knotwork, and soft folklore-inspired themes. My work blends traditional watercolour techniques with decorative influences like Art Nouveau and Baroque detailing.

  • Yes, all of my watercolour art prints are printed and packaged by hand in my Lincolnshire studio. Printing in-house allows me to carefully maintain colour accuracy and preserve the softness and detail of the original paintings. I print using my Canon Pixma Pro-200S and I pack my art prints using biodegradable materials.

  • Yes, I offer botanical watercolour commissions. Whether you’re looking for floral linework, a whimsical illustrated scene, or a meaningful bridal gift featuring botanicals from a bouquet, I would love to hear from you.

You can learn more about my commission process and availability through my website.
