Welcome to my waterlily prints

Welcome to my Lotus Valley collection, inspired by magical ponds, blooming waterlilies, and great weeping willow trees.

I wanted this watercolour collection to feel peaceful and a little otherworldly, like stumbling across a hidden pond where the flowers are blooming in the afternoon sun. Each piece is painted in my usual watercolour palette and finished with sparkly ink to capture those little moments where sunlight catches the water.

This collection includes waterlily art prints, lotus flower paintings, long Journal Dust, and a whimsical holographic sticker. My lotus prints almost look like little mandalas, with stars sitting at their centres and delicate details gilded in gold ink.

As always, you can choose 'add sparkles' when ordering. I’ll hand-paint the gold details onto your print so it feels a little closer to the original watercolour painting.

  • My Lotus Valley collection grew from a piece I painted for my Night Garden collection. It is one of my favourite paintings and has also become one of my best-sellers!

That original piece features a night time pond filled with waterlilies and fireflies, with a great weeping willow hanging over the water. I loved the little world I created so much that I wanted to return to it and explore the themes of peaceful ponds, waterlily flowers, reflections, and magical botanical details.

Lotus Valley is my chance to wander a little further into that garden.

  • The little watercolour prints are perfect for using as bookmarks, tucking into diaries, or sticking into junk journal collages. There are four different designs in this collection, so you can mix and match them to create your own little pond scene.

I love using Journal Dust to turn my everyday diary pages into tiny pieces of botanical artwork, so these are designed with that same idea in mind.

  • I am soooo tempted to explore waterlilies and serene ponds in a larger Evolution piece!

This is my first time visiting this painted garden, so for now I’m letting it grow a little. When Lotus Valley returns, I may paint a much larger sister piece and explore the water, willow trees, flowers, and reflections on a bigger scale.

  • I always start with very light yellows or blues, depending on the time of day I want the painting to feel like. From there, I slowly build up the deeper greens and begin adding the knotwork, botanical details, and little ripples across the water.

Watercolour has to be built from light to dark, which is one of the reasons I love working with it so much. There is something really magical about slowly layering colour and watching a little pond scene appear.
