Welcome to my Alphea Grove collection, a little wonderland of whimsical watercolour paintings, woodland scenes, fallen stars, and fairytale magic.
This collection is full of the sort of scenes I imagine when I think of a fairytale world. Bunnies playing with a fallen star in a forest, a dainty waterfall tucked amongst the trees, and little details hidden within flowers. I wanted each piece to feel like you had wandered into a magical woodland and found something only meant for fairies to see.
I think fuchsia flowers look like tiny fairy skirts, so they became a little recurring theme throughout this watercolour collection. The holo sticker that belongs to this garden is even a swirly fuchsia!
Alphea Grove is based on my idea of a fairytale wonderland, full of stars, tall trees, woodland creatures, and lots of sweet little swirls.
I didn't actually intend to paint three forest scenes, but my mind kept wandering back. I feel so peaceful in forests, so maybe it was inevitable that I kept finding myself painting trees, waterfalls, and little magical critters.
I wanted these pieces to feel softer and more like daydreams than traditional landscape paintings, with botanical details and whimsical spirals hiding throughout the scenes.
Alphea Grove includes a Pocket Print, two A5 art prints, an A6 watercolour print, and of course my little pixie-dust holographic sticker featuring a swirly fuchsia.
This collection is a little smaller than my usual gardens. I find myself burning out seasonally, and summer is always the time of year when I have to push myself towards my paintbrushes. The rest of the year, you normally have to pull me away from them.
My favourite would have to be the Brambles and the Fallen Star Print. It was my first landscape A5 piece, which made it feel like a little milestone for me as an artist.
I also loved painting the dog rose and blackberry border. Blackberries are always so much fun to paint because there are so many tiny shapes and colours packed into them. They felt perfect for framing this little woodland scene.

I want to revisit and tend to all of my gardens eventually, although I'm not sure yet whether Alphea Grove will grow into an Evolution piece. Coming back to my gardens is a fun ritual, it makes them feel alive and truly growing gardens.
