What inspired this collection

I love love love butterflies. They're like little flying flowers, full of magic and colour. Flutter Garden is a botanical watercolour collection inspired by butterflies and the flowers they adore. Every piece features plants beloved by pollinators, painted to celebrate their beauty and importance.

I never realised just how loved butterfly bush is until I planted one in my own garden. I have a gorgeous purple one right outside my bedroom window, and every day I watch it fill up with flutter bugs dancing in the sun.

I’ve also been seeing butterflies everywhere on my daily dog walks (although my puppies are not quite as patient about watching them as I am). All those sightings, plus the gentle excitement of upcoming Spring and the joy of pollinator plants, were the heart of this collection.

What is in this Collection?

An intricate watercolour painting with two main symmetrical patterns and flowers that are loved by pollinators. Such as asters, daises, and fuchsias. There are also small butterfly eggs nestled on the leaves.

The Flutter Garden collection is made up of small watercolour prints and stickers that celebrate butterflies and the flowers they love. Each piece is inspired by real pollinator plants and fluttery little garden visitors. Perfect for adding gentle colour to your walls, journals, and art collections.

Inside this collection, you'll find:

  • A cute butterfly sticker sheet for journaling, scrapbooking, or collecting.

  • Several A7 butterfly prints featuring species like the Anise Swallowtail, Red Admiral, Monarch, and Cabbage White (see below!)

  • Pollinator-themed artworks that follow the butterfly life cycle: eggs and caterpillars to cocoons and joyful flight.

  • A romantic and whimsical scene, of butterflies on a spring date.

This collection includes prints like Monarchs Dance, Cocoon Pillars, and Caterpillar Critters, which pair beautifully with other collections like Spring Buds or Lovers Lane if you love soft florals or love stories in nature. Everything is painted by hand, printed on textured paper, and packaged with love in my pink studio.

What to do with lil' art?

All the pieces in Flutter Garden are made to feel gentle and collectible. Perfect for tucking into journals, penpal letters, or building a soft gallery wall. I love using the sticker sheet in my journal or popping a print into a page to make my spread even more dreamy. (I also used some of the stickers to decorate this page!)

The A7 prints are small but mighty, and look lovely in a mini frame or washi-taped to your mirror, sketchbook, or bookshelf. You could even gift one to a friend who loves butterflies or Spring things.

If you’re a lover of art and soft surprises, you might also enjoy Bellis Clubs, my monthly subscription where I send out exclusive goodies and new art like this straight to your door.

If you’re drawn to Flutter Garden, you might also love Spring Buds, a flower-filled collection full of seasonal blooms, hearts, and Celtic knots.

Or for more soft critter magic, take a peek at Lovers Lane, which is all about animals in love, dreamy dates, and gentle symbolism.

These collections are designed to sit together like pages in a story, connected by colour, feeling, and the little world I’m building with each piece.

My Collection logic explained:

Each collection of mine has a few layers. I am verryyyyy loyal to my colour palette and even more so my 'requirements' for each collection. I open each collection with a digital illustration to introduce the artworks to come. (I announce them first on my Instagram!) And each collection has a different amount of art and different size canvases. The collections I am most excited about tend to be larger.

Each collection has at least one sticker and a lil summary zine, these summary zines explain my art and logic. And these are exclusive to my Bellis Clubs.

I conclude a collection by creating a digital diary using the watercolour art I paint. And, I also add the label to my folder and add stickers!!

Then I'm ready to create my next garden.

Why I keep coming back to butterflies

I am scared of spiders and yet I find butterflies absolutely enchanting. My partner and I went to a butterfly house an we stayed there for ages just watching them fly.

I think it is so sweet seeing two butterflies dance together, it just makes me think of my partner. That is often why I paint two butterflies, cause in my lil' gardens they are in love and on a date in a meadow.

At the end of Flutter Garden

I hope you enjoyed your wander through my first garden. At the end of this collection I stuck all my pieces my wall, like a makeshift gallery!

Below is my diary entry. I hope my art sets your mind at ease or even opens it to dream in colour and knots.

Love,
Laura
