Frog in rain, painted in watercolour

Shop The April Showers Collection

Welcome to my Weather Themed Art Collection

I wanted my April Showers watercolour collection to transport you into a cosy blanket while watching rain pour down your window. Or maybe give you that same sense of excitement I feel when I spot a rainbow, it feels so magical. Which is why I used so much gold and silver ink throughout this collection.

Each piece features botanical illustrations of flowers that bloom in April. I also painted local reminders of spring and nostalgia (like daisies and buttercups). I especially loved painting my A7 trio of woodland critters caught in the rain. Each one is either safe and cosy, hiding under daisies or logs, or sharing the moment with a friend on a lily pad.

Especially in Britain, rain is a constant companion, and I truly love it. Whether I’m watching it from inside, dancing in it in my garden with my partner, or just having a rain soundtrack playing in the background.

I’d love for you to see these prints in their true glory, so if you choose “add sparkles”, I’ll hand-paint silver rain onto your piece. I love the way this detail makes the rain dance.

  • When I was younger, I used to get really overwhelmed, and I loved watching the rain fall on the window, it helped me to slow down. I liked the idea that a tear on my cheek could return to the same place as the rain on my window… maybe the ocean, a river, or even steam from a kettle. I love feeling connected to something larger, and I hope my art can convey that.

  • April Showers gave me a chance to play with mixed media! I used Procreate to animate rain falling on my three A7 pieces. I definitely prefer traditional art, but I had fun experimenting.

  • You can choose between a standard print or a “sparkly” version. I hand-paint the gold or silver details, which keeps the print closer to the original and makes it feel extra special.

  • Standard prints are made to order to reduce my environmental footprint. However, there are only 5 sparkly versions of each piece, because there are so many raindrops to paint!
